Left to Righ: Me, Rowell, Dale, Mac, Matt
A quick word about meeting your heros
I have been fortunate enough to have met some of my social media heros who have helped motivate me through online videos & podcasts and have had a significant impact on my career, even though I myself am a complete stranger.
I was very cautious and intimidated about meeting them, considering the stigma around meeting your heros, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I consider myself luck to have been in the right place and the right time to have been given the opportunity to meet and interact with these individuals.
Matt and Mac, from Ekahau, were super nice and welcoming, allowing me to have podium on WiFi Day 2023 to share my wireless experiences with the world. These guys are truly the WiFi Ninja Rockstars that they portray and are hilarious in person.
Dale, from Ekahau, was super easy to talk to and I enjoyed hanging out and talking to him at WLPC2024 about mentorship and how our careers got started. He even recommended me for another webinar in 2025 about wireless higher education and I was truly greatful.
Rowell and François (not shown), from Clear to Send, were super friendly and down to earth when I went out of my way to thank them at WLPC2023 for there awesome technical podcast that I have been listening to over the past few years.
Then there is Mr. David Bombal himself, a true gentlemen and genuine guy who took time out of his day at Cisco Live 2024 to meet me. I simply wanted to thank him for his videos on youtube, some of which are technical and some that are simply motivational. I will never forgot when I met him and I said “hello, I am nobody but wanted to thank you” and his immediate response was “everyone is somebody” and took the time to take some photos with me for social media.
As I said before, maybe I was just luck to be in the right place and the right time but these guys are the real deal, down to earth, and genuine which gives me hope in my career and also motivates me to want to share and give back to the community.
While they may never see this blog, thank you guys for giving this nobody somebody an opportunity to be heard and seen.
